         John Distano began training dogs in 1990. He became involved in guard and protection dogs, as well as working with police K9 units. He then began mastering the finer points of advanced obedience and solving behavioral problems. After apprenticing under one of the top trainers in the country for several years, he went on his own to learn and develop new and innovative training techniques. He has trained dogs for sport work, police K9 and personal protection. He spent several years being a contributing editor for the largest dog training magazine in the world, Dog Sports Magazine. His articles have appeared on many websites and will also appear in several books. He has a few book ideas in the works himself, and many of his articles have become classics.His reputation is internationally recognized assisting other trainers and dog owners throughout the world.
